An 18th century grade 2 Listed stone arch bridge on the Bowood Estate.
The north face of the western end of the bridge catastrophically collapsed, apparently due to significant below ground water accumulating within the bridge, the hydrostatic pressure eventually surpassing the strength of the aged bridge structure.
MLDE obtained the necessary consents and detailed the repairs to the bridge, and appointed an appropriate Contractor on the Estate’s behalf to implement the extensive repairs.
