Solar Trees

MLDE were commissioned to provide structural design to support Solar Panels above the quayside at Jubilee Wharf. The purpose of the installation was to replace four existing wind turbines which had reached the end of their service life.

The commission came around 20 years after MLDE worked on the initial Jubilee Wharf Development.

The Solar Trees were constructed from steel hollow sections which were then galvanised to provide long term protection in the coastal environment.

Working closely with the project electrical engineers to optimise layout, the Solar Trees will produce a projected output of 9370 KWh annually.
