Drinking horse

Engineered for artist and sculptor Tom Hiscocks, this second edition of his drinking horse sculpture has been exhibited at Newbury Racecourse, Royal Ascot and now resides at a racing yard in Wiltshire.

This work involved a series of profiled copper plates, bolted together in a parallel arrangement to produce the form of the horses head balanced on a slab of Portland stone. Transport arrangements were also a consideration in this work, as the intermediate bolts had to support the weight of the sculpture when suspended from them.
