MLDE provide assistance liaising with Local Planning Authorities, submitting Listed Building Consent Applications and Building Regulations Applications which are required before works commence in the majority of construction projects. The rich heritage of timber framed buildings, thatched roofs and other historic structures around our hub in Wiltshire provide an insight into building techniques of the past.
A proven track record of assisting Clients with Listed Building Consent Applications and sensitive building or barn conversions / restoration works is evident in the work carried out by MLDE over the last three decades. Work to structures that fall within the curtilage of Listed buildings also forms part of the scope of duties of MLDE’s services. Many of these properties are in Conservation Areas, Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).
Sympathetic and appropriate treatment of historic fabric is at the core of MLDE’s approach to renovation and conservation work. We believe the methods and materials of traditional craftsmanship should form an integral part of the design process, drawing on the relationships and know-how which have been built up and developed over many years.
Not only will MLDE tackle historic renovation and conservation, but new build projects and modern developments are well within our capability. A full package of initial, design and application can be provided, along with later tendering and contract management. This level of continuity through a project ensures stability for a clients desires.
