Brewery Corner

This brownfield redevelopment project, known as Brewery Corner, sits in a prominent location in Devizes across from the historic Wadworth Brewery. MLDE were commissioned to provide the full structural and civil engineering design for the project.

The high specification properties had to meet tight restrictions of being in a Conservation area whilst also meeting Passivhaus standards. MLDE worked closely with the Contractor and Architect to meet this constraint, specifying suitable materials, products and detailing.

The ground conditions of the town centre brownfield site required a piled foundation design with ground beams designed by MLDE.

MLDE also carried out the design of the drainage systems, which included site attenuation specification, meeting climate-adjusted restrictions on outflow rates to the public sewer.
