SHEEPDROVE BIODIVERSITY CENTRE

A new conference building at the centre of one of the largest organic farms in Britain. The embodied energy of the facilities and their energy uses will be limited by sensible design.

The main structure of the building is being designed to reuse short lengths of timber with traditional jointing methods in a frame which is impressive yet calm.

The use of site excavated chalk to create extensive rammed earth walls helps to tie the building back into the landscape.
