Peckham Library Pods

MLDE produced an engineering solution for a design and build contractor, meeting the needs of the consultants and their performance specification for the project.

Three "organic" reading rooms were created using shells formed from curved timber ribs with structural plywood inner and outer skins. These structures provide inspirational spaces within an interesting new library which was awarded the Stirling Prize for the year 2000.
